Qualifications for SSI Crisis Support Consultant
Supportive Solutions, Inc. seeks mental health professionals interested in developing and maintaining an ongoing relationship with our company. We request that professionals only apply if they meet the minimum requirements and are willing to participate in the activities required of our Crisis Support Consultants. The application is not posted online, as we would like to have the opportunity to speak with you to confirm that you meet the minimum requirements before you apply.
If you do not meet the minimum requirements, you can choose to join the Crisis Support Associate Community. The CSA community will offer educational material, training and the ability to interact during a quarterly directed chat.
Minimum requirements:
- Master's degree or higher in mental health-related field
- Five years clinical experience after receiving degree
- Five years of actual crisis response experience, preferably in business or corporate settings
- Licensed in the state in which you practice (certification as an independent practitioner is acceptable if professional licensing is not available or required)
- Malpractice insurance coverage – $1 million/3 million.
- Have completed a recognized crisis response training course
Application process:
SSI will conduct an initial phone interview and then provide you with an application.
Submit application with a copy of the following:
- diploma
- malpractice insurance
- license or certification
- copy of crisis response training certificates
- 3 completed reference forms
SSI requires criminal and sexual offense background checks in addition to primary source verification of your license/certification.
If accepted, you will be required
- To participate in conference call with other new consultants to review process, how to access website, enter cases, use chat rooms, training institute.
- To participate in coaching/mentoring process for first three cases.
- To participate in required continuing education to remain in the crisis consultant community.
- To participate in consultant activities such as directed, educational support consultant chat room discussions, updated training, conference calls, etc.
- To keep up to date on all new developments in SSI.
