What you should know about our Crisis Support Consultants

SSI believes that you should only work with the most qualified crisis support consultants. Here are the minimum credentials required by SSI:

  • Master's degree or higher in mental health-related field
  • Five years clinical experience after receiving degree
  • Trained to provide response services specifically in a business or corporate environment
  • Licensed in the state where the consultant practices (certification as an independent practitioner is acceptable if professional licensing is not available or required)
  • Malpractice insurance coverage – $1 million/3 million (minimum)
  • Have completed a recognized crisis response training course

Additionally, SSI conducts a background check on each applicant, as well as primary source verification of licensure.

SSI requires the applicant to submit three professional references and participate in a phone interview before acceptance into our Crisis Consultant Community. Applicants must agree to coaching/mentoring for the first three to five responses conducted for SSI. All SSI Crisis Support Consultants are trained in the SSI Approach which focuses on providing response services in a business setting. Ongoing participation in continuing education is a requirement for remaining an active Crisis Support Consultant.
